Build survey templates in Artifacts, send them as per-recipient links, review responses, and automate surveys with agents.

Overview

A survey in Cora is a set of questions you send to a customer to collect structured feedback. Common uses include measuring satisfaction (CSAT), tracking loyalty (NPS), and gathering intake or open-ended feedback. Surveys live under Artifacts. You build a reusable survey template, then send it as a unique link to one recipient at a time. Each response comes back into Cora attached to the account, so you can review answers alongside the rest of what you know about that customer.

Building a Survey

Surveys are created and managed on the Artifacts page. Start from a new template, add your questions, and choose how the survey behaves before you save.
1

Create the template

1

Go to Artifacts

Go to the Artifacts page.
2

Click New Template

Click New Template.
3

Select Survey

Under Choose a template type, select Survey (“Collect responses and feedback”).
4

Name the survey

Give the survey a name in the Survey name field.
2

Add questions

Click Add Question for each question you want to ask. For every question you can:
  • Choose a question type (see Question Types below)
  • Turn on the Required toggle if the recipient must answer before submitting
You can also use Add Section to group related questions together.
3

Choose how it is shown

Set the Mode to control how questions appear to the recipient:
  • All at once: every question is shown on a single page
  • One at a time: questions are shown one per screen, with progress as the recipient moves through them
4

Set the completion message

The Completion message is what the recipient sees after they submit. It defaults to “Thank you for your feedback!” and you can change it to whatever fits your survey.
5

Save

Click Create to save a new survey, or Save Changes when editing an existing one. Your survey template is now ready to send.

Question Types

Cora supports the following question types:
  • Scale: a rating on a numeric scale
  • Short Text: a single line of free text
  • Long Text: a longer, multi-line free-text response
  • NPS (0-10): the standard Net Promoter Score question, where 0 means not at all likely and 10 means extremely likely to recommend
  • CSAT (1-5): a customer satisfaction rating from 1 (very dissatisfied) to 5 (very satisfied)
  • Number: a numeric answer
  • Single Select: choose one option from a list
  • Multi Select: choose one or more options from a list
Any question type can be marked Required.

Sending a Survey

You send a survey by generating a unique link for a specific recipient. Each link is tied to one person, so you generate a new one for each customer you want to survey.
1

Find the template

On the Artifacts page, find your survey template and choose Generate Link.
2

Select the account

Under Who will be filling out this survey?, pick the Account.
3

Enter recipient details

Enter the Recipient email, and optionally a Recipient name (optional).
4

Generate the link

Click Generate Link.
5

Copy and share

Copy the Survey link (“Copy this link and share it with the recipient.”) and send it to the recipient however you like, such as by email.
  • One link per person: each link is unique to the recipient you generated it for
  • Links expire after 30 days: generating the link again for the same recipient extends the expiry
  • Re-submissions update in place: if a recipient opens their link again and submits, their existing response is updated rather than duplicated

What recipients see

When someone opens their link, they see a simple public survey page. There is no login required, and the page works on both desktop and mobile. Depending on the Mode you chose, recipients either see every question at once or move through them one at a time with Back and Next buttons and a sense of their progress. When they are done they click Submit and see your completion message, along with a note that they can close the page.

Automating Sends with Agents

Beyond sending surveys by hand, you can have a Cora agent send and follow up on surveys automatically. You set this up yourself: ask Cora’s agent builder in chat to build the agent, describe what you want it to do, then test it and turn it on. There is no special access or engineering work required. For example, you might ask Cora in chat:
“Build an agent that sends our CSAT survey when a renewal event fires on an account, sends reminders every few days until they respond, alerts the account owner when a response comes in, and writes the score back to our CRM.”
From a description like that, Cora builds an agent that can:
  • Send a survey automatically off a lifecycle signal, for example a CSAT survey when a particular event fires on an account
  • Run a reminder sequence on a schedule you choose, spaced a few days apart, where each reminder first checks whether the person has already responded and is skipped if they have, so people who have responded stop getting further reminders
  • Alert the account owner when a response comes in
  • Write scores back to your CRM
Sending the survey, running the reminders, and reading responses work on their own. Steps that reach into another system depend on that integration being connected first: writing scores back to your CRM needs your CRM connected (and the fields you want to write to), and Slack alerts need Slack connected. Cora works with whatever you already have set up. To learn how agents are triggered off lifecycle events, see Agent Triggers and Activation Rules. For more on building agents in chat, see Building Your First Agent and How to Build Skills.

Reporting on Results

Once responses start coming in, you can review individual answers and track how a survey is performing.

Reviewing responses

Each submitted survey comes back into Cora as a Survey Response artifact attached to the account you selected when generating the link. To review answers, open the account and find its Survey Response artifacts, or filter Artifacts by the Survey Response type. Each response is labeled Response from so you can see who it came from. Open one to read the individual answers.
Once a survey template has responses, it can’t be deleted. If you try, Cora shows “Templates with responses can’t be deleted.”

Tracking responses and engagement

Because each survey link is unique to one recipient, Cora always knows who was invited and who has responded. You can ask Cora for these numbers at any time to see how a survey is going, and Cora can also build you a dashboard to track your survey results on an ongoing basis. These views can also be exported to CSV. You can ask Cora for:
  • The response rate, meaning how many people have responded out of everyone who was invited
  • Who has not responded yet, so you know who is still outstanding
  • How long responses are taking to come back
For example, you might ask Cora in chat:
“What is the current response rate on our CSAT survey, and who hasn’t responded yet?”
To read the actual answers, open individual responses in Artifacts as Survey Response items. Each one shows the respondent’s email, when it was submitted, and their answers. Only completed responses appear in Artifacts, so people who have not responded yet are not listed there; ask Cora to see who is still outstanding. When Cora sends a survey by email through an agent, it also tracks email engagement on that send:
  • Opens and clicks on the survey link are tracked
  • Cora can use this to follow up, for example to remind people who opened the email but have not responded yet
  • Links you copy and share yourself are not open-tracked
