# Receive Cora customer health alerts in Slack channels

> Send Cora alerts, customer health updates, and EBR reminders directly into your Slack channels using a simple OAuth 2.0 integration.

Connecting Slack to Cora lets your team receive automated notifications — lifecycle event alerts, health score changes, and EBR reminders — right where they already work, without switching context.

| Detail           | Value                                     |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| Integration type | OAuth 2.0, Organization-Level             |
| Setup time       | 2–3 minutes                               |
| Required role    | Slack Workspace Admin + Cora.ai Org Admin |

## Prerequisites

* An active Slack workspace
* Workspace admin permissions in Slack (required to approve the app installation)
* Organization administrator access in Cora.ai

## Permissions

The Cora.ai Slack app requests a pre-approved set of permissions during installation — no manual scope configuration is needed. These permissions allow Cora to read and post messages in channels it has been added to, identify workspace members, and respond to @mentions and slash commands.

<Note>
  Cora.ai only reads messages in channels it has been explicitly added to. It does not have access to channels or direct messages it has not been invited to.
</Note>

## Setup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install the Cora.ai Slack app">
    1. Click **[Install Cora.ai for Slack](https://slack.com/oauth/v2/authorize?client_id=8284691133957.8286483075958\&scope=app_mentions:read,channels:history,channels:join,channels:read,chat:write,commands,groups:history,groups:read,groups:write,im:history,im:read,im:write,mpim:history,mpim:read,users:read,users:read.email,team:read,files:read,reactions:read\&state=71db0ee4-68ed-495b-986b-c213fa203f60)** to begin the OAuth flow.
    2. You will be redirected to Slack's authorization page.
    3. Select the Slack workspace you want to connect.
    4. Review the permissions Cora.ai is requesting.
    5. Click **Allow** to approve the installation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Cora to your channels">
    Once the app is installed in your workspace, invite Cora to each channel where it should post:

    1. Open the Slack channel where you want Cora to post.
    2. Type `/invite @Cora`, or click the channel name → **Integrations** → **Add an App** → select **Cora**.
    3. Repeat for each channel where you want Cora to be active.

    <Tip>
      Start with a dedicated channel (e.g., `#cora-alerts` or `#customer-updates`) to test the integration before rolling it out more broadly.
    </Tip>
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Use cases

* **Lifecycle event alerts** — Receive notifications in Slack when key customer events are detected.
* **Customer health updates** — Get alerted when customer health scores change significantly.
* **EBR reminders** — Automated reminders for upcoming Executive Business Reviews.
* **Team collaboration** — Ask Cora questions directly in Slack via @mentions.

## Additional notes

* Any workspace admin can approve the initial app installation.
* Channel members can invite or remove Cora from individual channels at any time.

## Disconnecting

To fully remove Cora from your Slack workspace, a workspace admin can uninstall the app from **Slack Admin** → **Manage Apps**.
